Title: The Edge of Forever
Author: J. Saman
Genre: Contemporary romance

Weston Kincaid was my first…everything. My brother's best friend should have come with a warning label. The man was a cautionary tale and we were the ill-fated cliché. The star quarterback to my loner art geek. But I didn't listen. Not to the warnings. Not to my instincts. I fell, and I fell hard. Then he left and I was forced to pick up the pieces of my broken heart. A decade and a lifetime later, he's back. Only instead of being the star jock, he's now a surgeon. A sexy, irresistible surgeon who happens to save my friend's life. As if all that isn't bad enough, he has it in his determined, arrogant head that we should pick up where we left off. But this time, it'll take more than devouring looks and the rush of his touch to temp me back into his bed. And my heart? Not an option. He's about to figure out, I'm not the same girl he left behind.

I was pretty excited for this book since I love the brothers-best-friend trope and it sounded really interesting. And it was actually pretty intriguing and I enjoyed reading it, but I also didn't love it as much as I hoped I would. Wes and Aria had a lot going on which sometimes just meant there was a lot to keep me interested but in the end it all just felt like a little too much. When the ending came and I finished reading I still felt like the romance between these characters wasn't finished and I was looking for a little more.

There were flash backs to them as teens that were put in and most of them I just didn't feel were necessary for us to know Wes and Aria. Then we had the drama with Aria's best friend in the hospital and us trying to figure out what happened to him. And then finally we had the romance in the present between these characters. Which by the time we got to it just felt like it was an after thought. I just felt like things were missing to complete the story with a sense of romance and happily ever after. I wanted more Wes and Aria in the present and not the random scenes of the past that still didn't add up to much. And I really really wanted some family scenes in the present. Especially with Aria's brother so we could see his reaction to them together. As it was, I can't even honestly say this was a brothers-best-friend kind of book since the brother wasn't really even in the story.

Overall, there were a lot of good parts to this story and I did still enjoy it. I was just looking for a little more romance I guess. But I can certainly say that it was intriguing and I think a lot of people will love reading this.
