A Standalone Contemporary Romance Novel
By: NY Times, USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal Best Selling Author, Penelope Ward

LOVE ONLINE LIVE NOW

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy STANDALONE novel.
We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod” and she was “Montana,” but of course, those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind.
Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape—my sanctuary.
Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out.
From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed.
She was an addiction.
At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities…and she was adamant that we keep things that way. Anonymity had no effect on our unstoppable chemistry, though. If anything, it allowed us to open up even more in ways we may not have otherwise.
Eden was funny, intelligent, gorgeous—everything I’d ever wanted in a woman.
But I couldn’t really have her.
I had accepted things would have to stay the way they were—until the day I found a clue that led me straight to her.
So I took a chance.
And that was when our love story really began.

LOVE ONLINE is live early on Amazon and on a limited-time release sale for $3.99! (Changing SOON to $4.99. This will be the ONLY sale ever.)

All the Way

All the Way
Romancing Manhattan Book 1
Kristen Proby
August 21, 2018

In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby’s brand new Romancing Manhattan series, three brothers get more than they bargain for as they practice law, balance life, and navigate love in and around New York City.

Finn Cavanaugh is known for being a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. He owns a successful law firm with his brother and brother-in-law in Manhattan. On the rare occasion that he has down time, he spends it at his home in Martha’s Vineyard. But when Finn’s troubled niece goes to stay with him for the summer in Martha’s Vineyard, he’s reluctant to take time off from work. That is, until he meets his beautiful new neighbor, London.

London Watson is a Tony Award winning actress on Broadway. When tragedy strikes her family, leaving her alone and injured, she flees Manhattan for Martha’s Vineyard. Hoping she can figure out how to pick up the pieces of her life, London is convinced that she’ll never be able to return to the stage. But when she meets the charming young girl next door and her sexy uncle, they soon lure London out of her shell as she finally begins to heal from the wounds of her past.

But when London feels confident enough to return to the spotlight, she’s dealt another devastating blow. Will the newfound love between London and Finn be enough to conquer all? Or will it be over before it has a chance to grow?

All the Way starts off Kristen Proby's new series, Romancing Manhattan, and introduces us to London Watson and Finn Cavanaugh. After a tragic house fire took both of London's parents and broke her leg making her unable to dance, London packed up and left the city to go stay at her parents' beach house. There she see's her family's estate lawyer who just happens to be her new neighbor.

I thought Finn was a good hero. He intrigued me and I loved how he was with London. He just wanted to protect her and he hated to see that she was in so much pain over her parents death and the loss of her dancing career. He wanted nothing more than to help make London's life as easy as possible, even when she didn't want him to help her.

That was actually what I liked about London. She was strong in her own right and didn't want Finn trying to take over her life all in the name of 'helping' her. When he pushed, she pushed right back and it was really fun to see that. They had a great chemistry that was very evident on the pages.

Overall, this is a book I would recommend reading. It started off this series very well and has me super curious about the next books.

Things hadn't gone easy for London after injuring her leg in a accident. The accident had turned London's world underside down. It's changed her life not in a good way. Being in Broadway was her life and even that was being turned around. The only thing that was going well in her life was the hot sexy attorney Finn dealing with her case and he just happens to be her neighbor at her beach house.

Finn is a partner in a law firm with his brother and brother in law. Things haven't always been easy for him he has had to work his backside off to get where he is but it all paid off. He has never wanted to get close to a woman till he met London. At the tender age of nearly 40 he really needed to sort his life out. So meeting London came at a good time in his life. She made everything better in his life.

I think Finn and London made such a cute couple. Things went pretty smooth for them. Finn was there for London through her hard times and helped get her life back on track. I did find Finn and London a little annoying at times he needs to learn the word listen cause he couldn't do it at times and London was just a little all over the place. I do understand why she was cause she has been through a lot. London is really independent so when Finn started changing things she wasn't happy. I did think that these two were really hot they could get enough of each other. They fit into each other's life so quickly they are just perfect together.

When I found out Kristen Proby is going to do a new series I get so excited so getting this book early is amazing. I couldn't wait I had to start it. I really didn't want to put it down once I started it. But i did find that the story ended quick I wanted more at the end. I did think the story was really good though it's flowed really well and I was dying to know what was going to happen between Finn and London. There are a few parts that I wanted more from so I hope I get to find out more as the series goes on. I would recommend this book I m a huge Kristen Proby fan and there isn't a book that's I haven't enjoyed. I m really looking forward to more of this series.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

From Here to You
Jamie McGuire
Crash & Burn Book 1
August 21, 2018

As Darby Dixon sits in a tiny Texas church bathroom on her wedding day holding a positive pregnancy test, she realizes that of all the bad decisions she's made in her life, marrying her abusive fiancé would be the worst. She's never been able to stand up for herself, but she'll sure as hell stand up for her baby. With just the cash she has on hand, she runs to get a bus ticket to the farthest place she can afford. Between her sheer grit and pageant-queen smile, she lands a job as a front desk clerk at the Colorado Springs Hotel. It's not a glamorous life, but she and her baby are all that matters.

A former Marine, Scott "Trex" Trexler has worked in the most dangerous, corrupt, war-torn places on earth. Now he finally has a chance to return to the last place he'd felt at peace--Colorado Springs, Colorado, to take a new job with the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, a top-secret military installation buried deep within the granite.

The moment Trex walks into the inn, Darby knows he's dangerous. There's no way she wants to get involved with another man who seems to be keeping way too many secrets. As charming and devastatingly gorgeous as Trex is, he clearly isn't telling her everything. But as wildfires rage on the mountain and Darby's ex-fiancé shows he isn't so willing to let her go, both she and Trex are soon to find out that what you don't know absolutely can hurt you.

I have no shame in admitting I love a good damsel in distress story, especially when her savior is a military man. So when I saw the blurb for Jamie McGuire's newest book you can bet I jumped at the chance to read it.

From Here to You is the story of Darby, a runaway bride who left her abusive fiance on her wedding day, and Trex, a retired Marine trying to start over with a new job in the one place he thinks will bring him peace. When he meets Darby he instantly know's that she's the one, his one true soul mate that he's been looking for his whole life and who he's measured every girl against, even though he hadn't met her yet. And he doesn't care that she comes with baggage most men would run from, she's his and he's willing to wait until he can prove it to her.

Honestly this was a really unique story in my opinion and for a lot of different reasons. Not only do we get a hero that is instantly all-in for the relationship while the heroine isn't, which doesn't happen too often in romance books, but we also get a really great way of storytelling where the main characters have different beliefs. I'm not a big fan of bringing religion into the books I read but I actually really enjoyed how it was done in this book. It wasn't forced at all but there were moments that the discussion of beliefs came up since Darby was a catholic and Trex was an atheist. I really liked that they didn't let it become a interference in their relationship and it made me love them even more that they could discuss that topic without it becoming a fight.

I just generally really liked and enjoyed this couple. I felt so many emotions for them both but Darby is the character that spoke to my heart the most. I admired her for having the strength to leave a bad situation, but I also hurt for her that she didn't feel like she deserved happiness. I was so happy that Trex came into her life and showed her that she didn't deserve to be punished for a past that wasn't her fault.

There's also a little bit of a mystery, at least for me since I'm obnoxiously curious, surrounding Trex's job. I am dying to find out what exactly is going on at the facility he works at so I hope that's something we'll learn in the upcoming books.

If you're a fan of this author you'll also be happy to see some of the Maddox brothers make an appearance in this book. I haven't read the book yet but I believe that Darby and Trex are actually characters you meet in Beautiful Burn. Either way, if you know these characters or not, I highly recommend their story. It was captivating, and beautiful, and a story I know I will be re-reading many times over.

Montana Heat Book 3
Jennifer Ryan
August 21, 2018

She was this Montana Man’s greatest temptation . . .

Alina Cooke—little sister of his two best friends—is the last woman DEA agent Jay Bennett should be waking up next to on the day of her brother’s wedding. But their powerful attraction ignited a powder keg of desire, and their once simple friendship has just become impossibly complicated.

Alina’s always been steady, focused, and lived on the safe side of life. Jay is totally devoted to his dangerous job. She knows a future with him will be filled with worry that one day he won’t come home. She’s done it with her brothers. She’s not sure she can face that uncertainty with the man she loves. Yet being in his arms is a bad idea they keep repeating, again and again.

When Alina is run off the road, Jay fears his job has made her a target. But the threat in Alina’s life is closer than they think. As the enemy gets more ruthless, Alina proves she’s no easy target and Jay will do anything to bring them down. Because surviving and being together is the only thing that matters.

I'm a sucker for a good friends-little-sister story and this one hit the mark for what I wanted. Alina and Jay intrigued me just as much as the suspenseful parts of their story did and I really enjoyed getting to learn more about them. Their romance was really good and I liked how it blended with the more suspenseful moments of the book.

I liked how the romance between characters blended with the mysterious parts and I thought it was a good combination where one part didn't take over the other. The story kept me intrigued with the characters and had me captivated by them as well as their story.

Overall, this is a book I would definitely recommend. I think it could be read without being caught up on the series since I've only read the previous book and had no problem or moments of confusion.

Richer Than Sin

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends. Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes. I didn’t know or care what her name was. Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man. She hates me, and she should. I objected on her wedding day. Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger. They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable. I’ll never be done with her.

AVAILABLE NOW

Richer Than Sin starts off Meghan March's newest trilogy following Lincoln Riscoff and Whitney Gable. Ten years ago they fell for one another even though it went against everything their families wanted. Gable's and Riscoff's have a long standing family feud and no one wanted to see the two together. The town got it's wish when they separated and Whitney moved away. But now after all these years she's back and on Lincolns radar. The town may not think she's good enough for him, but for Lincoln, Whitney has always been the only one he wanted and now she's his for the taking.

I thought this book was a good introduction to these characters and their story. I liked getting to know them and it was interesting to try and unravel the tangled web of secrets and drama from their past. There were certain things that kept me captivated by what was going on and I really liked that about the story and thought the intrigue was the best part of it. More than that, Whitney and Lincoln were great characters I thought, they were well developed and both had me interested to find out more about them.

Where I had my issues was the time line. The story is told in both the present and ten years in the past when Lincoln and Whitney first met. At first it kept me intrigued and dying to find out what was going to happen in each part. But then as I read on it became somewhat of an annoyance. It just happened too much for my liking since at times it was almost every other chapter that was being told in a different time. It left me feeling like I didn't know much about either the past or the present.

Overall, I had my issues with how many time jumps there were but this is definitely still a story I'm dying to read more of and I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment to find out if my suspicions on the what happened in the past are correct.

Guilty until proven innocent.
That’s the way the world works, right?
I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.
The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.
If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.
To keep.
To cherish.
I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.
I don’t care what it takes, because failure is not an option.
No matter who or what stands in our way—this time, she’ll be mine forever

Bishop

Title: Bishop
Series: Arizona Vengeance #1
Author: Sawyer Bennett
Release date: August 14, 2018

Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates.

Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.

But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.

Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancĂ©.

Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real.

Bishop wasn't your typical fake-relationship romance with a ton of drama and lies. Instead I found this book to be a pretty light read without the distraction of too much angst. Bishop and Brooke were a great couple and I really liked how they didn't fight the strong connection they had together. The chemistry was off the charts hot and made this book very intriguing.

The heat level was a lot higher than I though it would be but I am definitely not complaining about that fact. I loved seeing how crazy Bishop and Brooke were for each other and how that passion in the bedroom turned into something much deeper.

Overall, I think Bishop was a great start to this new series and I can't wait to see what else will come of it. There was a really good setup for the other characters that will be getting a book and I'm excited to read their own stories.

Dr. Strange Beard

BT_BANNER.jpg

Dr. Strange Beard, an all-new standalone in the bestselling, romantic comedy Winston Brothers Series by Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Penny Reid, is available NOW!

Hunches, horse races, and heartbreak

Ten years after Simone Payton broke his heart, all Roscoe Winston wants is a doughnut. He’d also like to forget her entirely, but that’s never going to happen. Roscoe Winston remembers everything—every look, every word, every single unrequited second—and the last thing he needs is another memory of Simone.

Unfortunately, after one chance encounter, Simone keeps popping up everywhere he happens to be...

Ten years after Roscoe Winston dropped out of her life, all Simone Payton wants is to exploit him. She’d also like some answers from her former best friend about why he ghosted her, but if she never gets those answers, that’s a-okay. Simone let go of the past a long time ago. Seriously, she has. She totally, totally has. She is definitely not still thinking about Roscoe. Nope. She’s more than happy to forget he exists.

But first, she needs just one teeny-tiny favor...

Dr. Strange Beard is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be read as a stand-alone, and is the fifth book in the USA TODAY bestselling Winston Brothers series.

EXCERPT

“Simone, this is not one of our adventures from when we were kids. This is not finding Blithe Tanner’s cat. These men are murderers, drug dealers, thieves.” “I know.” Boy oh boy, did I know. I didn’t want to be here anymore than he did. I was frightened. Yet allowing Roscoe to be taken on his own hadn’t been an option. “I can handle myself, and I can provide backup for you, if you need it.” Roscoe gripped my shoulders. “Nothing can happen to you, do you understand?” His words were emphatic, his gaze disoriented, desolate, frantic. “If anything happens to you, I’ll . . .” He swallowed, apparently unable to finish the sentence. My heart twisted to see him like this. I wished there were some way to show him what I could do, what I was capable of, so he would stop seeing me as a liability. Well, why can’t you? “Huh.” Now there was a thought. Stepping out of his grip, I walked backward to the other side of the room and took a deep breath. “Okay. Come at me.” He blinked. “What?” “I want you to come at me.” “Simone,” he seethed. “Come at me, bro.” I did that little movement with my fingers, my palm turned upwards. “Come at me or I’ll start singing again.” “I’m not doing this.” “Fine.”Frustrating. “I’ll come at you.” He stood there, features set, looking raw. Moving quickly forward, staying light on my feet, I faked right and then went left, hooking him behind the back of his leg, catching his arm to twist behind his back, and sending him to the ground—face-first—with a thud. I winced as he grunted, my knee at the base of his spine, his arm restrained behind his back. “Sorry! But you wouldn’t listen to me.” Leaning forward, I whispered in his ear, “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?” Roscoe’s back and shoulders rose and fell with an expansive breath, like he was about to respond, but in the next moment he’d spun his legs to the right, leveraged my knee on his back to throw me off-balance, and slipped his wrist from my hold. In my defense, my grip had been lax as I was purposefully trying not to injure him. The next thing I knew, Roscoe had me pinned to the ground, air knocked out of me, him hovering above, and my gun digging into my ribs beneath my shirt. He’d been careful to subdue my legs, likely so he wouldn’t end up with a bruised ballsack. His stare more probing than angry—which I took as a good sign—he said, “I didn’t teach you that. Where’d you learn that?” Even though I was still coughing, I smiled and rasped, “Since college, take judo.” He nodded faintly, his eyes moving between mine, looking concerned. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?” “No.” Endeavoring to catch my breath, I said, “I took it easy on you because I didn’t want to hurt you either, but I’m an asset, not a liability.” “You’re definitely an asset.” Roscoe frowned, his gaze dropping to my mouth. “And a distraction,” he said, his voice rough. “I’m a distraction?” I asked, my words still breathy. I bucked, but he held me fast. “Yes. . .” His stare turned inward. “You are most definitely a distraction.” Even though I’d had plenty of time to recover and we’d been holding still for close to a minute, I was still breathing hard. This might have been because of my lingering irritation. Or, maybe it was because the length of Roscoe’s lean body was lying on mine. He held my hands on either side of my head, our faces even, his mouth just inches away. Was it insane that I hoped he kissed me? Yes? No? Let’s go with no. He gave me his eyes again and I saw something there, a battle. He looked undecided, at war with himself, straining against something I couldn’t see. “Roscoe?” I whispered. Roscoe closed his eyes, and I thought he was going to let me go, but in the next second his lips descended, capturing my mouth in a tender kiss. I moaned. I kissed him back. That’s what one does when Roscoe Winston kisses one. Moan and kiss. Repeat. Because not doing so would be a travesty. His hold on my hands slacked, his fingers seeking and threading with mine. He settled his hips between my legs, his form relaxing. The weight of him was different now, warmer somehow. At least I felt warm. I also felt cherished as his tongue sought mine, again tenderly, stroking, causing my abdomen to twist and tighten into delicious knots. He broke the kiss and a protest died on my lips as his mouth trailed down my jaw to the sensitive skin of my neck, sucking, licking, savoring me. What had felt warm and cherishing heated, and my hips tilted reflexively as he nibbled on my ear, cradling his rapidly growing erection. We both gasped as his hips rocked in an answering yet inelegant movement. It felt perfect and essential in the moment. “Oh God.” His hot breath spilled against my jaw, a ragged sigh. “What are we doing?” “I don’t know, but don’t stop.”

Penny Reid is one of my favorite authors because I find her books to be unique, but in a subtle way. They aren't just fluffy romance, not that there's anything wrong with that, but when you're reading a book from Ms. Reid they make you stop and think. She brings in real life issues in small ways that don't distract from the story but still make you pause and reflect on them.

And not only are her stories unlike any others that I've read, but her characters are always very different from the norm as well. I love that these books aren't afraid to touch on sensitive subject and that the characters have personalities most authors don't write about. It makes the already great stories even better.

Dr. Strange Beard was just as brilliant as the rest of the series and follows Roscoe Winston, the very of this bunch, and his childhood best friend who turned in to his worst memory. I can't say he was as strange as his siblings, but he still had his quirks that I found endearing. Getting to see inside his mind a little really helped me understand him and I felt a great deal of sympathy for him. Not in a pitying type of way, but in a way that his struggles made me want to give him a big hug.

Then we have Simone Payton, the aforementioned best friend. She was dealing with a difficult task and I was rooting her on the whole time to figure it out. I easily connected with her since her emotions were so vivid on these pages and I couldn't help but get sucked in to her world. She's also the character that brought in those real life instances and it made me feel so passionate about things that don't always affect me. I finished the book over a day ago and I'm still thinking about her character, which I find amazing.

Overall, I found this book to be the usual Penny Reid awesomeness so of course if gets a big recommend from me. I don't personally think this could be read as a standalone so I would say to read the rest of the series before starting this one.
