Hero

Hero
Morgan Brothers
Lauren Rowe

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together.

And I don’t mean any of that figuratively.

I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman—although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words.

No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker—my physical therapist—I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit.

When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul.

She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling.

And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me.

And I fell in love.

But what I didn’t know... what I couldn’t possibly know... was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

I'm loving these Morgan brothers so much. Every time I read there books I fall for them so hard. They are so caring protective and strong men. I love how family means so much to them. I just love them. This book is Colby's book and I've been looking forward to this book. Colby is the oldest of the family so he is super protective of them all. They all go to him for advice him being the mighty Master Yoda. I love that they call him that it's so funny. Colby is a firefighter and loved his job. It's what he has always wanted to be he is a very dedicated member of his team he puts he heart and soul into his job. He never sees himself getting married and doing the whole white picket fence. But he has never found a woman that would make him want to until he see the most gorgeous hazel eyes he has ever seen. Once he see the rest of the gorgeous woman he knew Lydia Decker was going to be the one that he had to have everything with but things never go that easy.

Lydia is a great woman she has had to deal with so much heart break. Her husband was a cop and was in a horrible accident and died leaving her with 3 beautiful kids who she loved more than anything they are her world. Darren her husband was her everything they had been together since they were in high school he was her first love her first everything. After trying to get her life back of track 3 year later she is back doing Physical therapy in a hospital the kids are doing well as can be and she even feels like she can put herself out there to the world. She is still young and needs a bit of compassion. She just didn't think that she would end up finding it with one of her clients. And that client just happens to be Colby Morgan the Hero.

This story is so so good. I really enjoyed it once I started it I couldn't the book down. It's always good to get more of these fun loving brothers. They all just love so hard you can't help but love them. This story is heart breaking in parts the things that both Lydia and Colby go through is so tough. It is great to see how there relationship grows. Things don't go so easy for them but they make it work. Once thing that these two have from the start is sexual tension. Omg they are so hot together even when they aren't together they are smoking. I really love the connection that these to have its so strong. I would highly recommend this book. If you haven't met the Morgan brothers yet you really need to to. They are all so different about all amazing I love everyone. I m dying to more of them. I'm going to be so sad when there series is over. But last we still have Dax's book which I m dying for bring it on.

Murder Notes

Murder Notes
Lilah Love Book 1
Lisa Renee Jones
March 27, 2018

As an FBI profiler, it’s Lilah Love’s job to think like a killer. And she is very good at her job. When a series of murders surface—the victims all stripped naked and shot in the head—Lilah’s instincts tell her it’s the work of an assassin, not a serial killer. But when the case takes her back to her hometown in the Hamptons and a mysterious but unmistakable connection to her own life, all her assumptions are shaken to the core.

Thrust into a troubled past she’s tried to shut the door on, Lilah’s back in the town where her father is mayor, her brother is police chief, and she has an intimate history with the local crime lord’s son, Kane Mendez. The two share a devastating secret, and only Kane understands Lilah’s own darkest impulses. As more corpses surface, so does a series of anonymous notes to Lilah, threatening to expose her. Is the killer someone in her own circle? And is she the next target?

Putting this review into words is very difficult right now because the only thing my brain is doing is screaming "I need more!"

This book takes you on twists and turns through secrets and murder, and I loved every second of it. It follows Lilah Love, a FBI agent with a big secret, as she heads back to her hometown after being led there by a killer. Told completely in Lilah's POV, it weaves a tale so suspenseful you'll catch yourself checking your locks and looking out for a stalker.

As much as I was dying for answers and wanted so bad to just skip to the end, I actually thought the slower pace of the story was perfect. It added so much intrigue and gave me time to try and figure out what all the secrets were. I loved that it captivated me so much and had me on the edge the entire time. There was always something happening between these pages that had me questioning everything.

For some reason I actually haven't read Lisa Renee Jones in a long time and it's something I'm regretting very much right now. This book brought back every reason that I love her writing. She has the ability to write so much information into a story without it ever being too wordy, and instead it just keeps me on the edge of my seat. I'm already dying to read the next installment of the Lila Love series and I'm not ashamed to beg for it.

Coming soon...

Kiss Me Back

Kiss Me Back
Sidney Halston
Panic Book 3
March 27, 2018

The only thing hotter than the Miami sun is the sexual tension at Panic, the South Beach nightclub where love knows no boundaries.

Lola: I’ve seen the way women in line behind the velvet rope look at William Fox, like he’s an Armani-clad St. Peter at the pearly gates. Except Panic isn’t heaven, and this bouncer is no saint. He’s been tempting me to sin ever since I started working here, but Fox’s slick smile and bad-boy swagger tell me everything I need to know about him. Still, a girl has needs. And Fox looks ready to fulfill every last one—at least for a night. . . .

Fox: I’m not used to being ignored—especially by women—but Lola Daye is different. The pretty bartender with the red lips and icy blue eyes seems perfectly happy pretending I don’t exist. Too bad, because the more she ignores me, the harder I fall. So I’m floored when she answers my drunken, flirty text with a yes. Lola claims she only wants a fling, but after one kiss, our bodies are speaking the same language. And I’m ready to prove that what we have could be forever.

No cheating. No cliffhangers. And no dress code.

Give me a book written by Sidney Halston and I will read it no matter what. But give me Kiss Me Back and I will not only read it, I will love it. Fox and Lola immediately grabbed my attention in this story and I couldn't put this book down once I started.

They had a slower relationship but I really liked it for them and thought it worked with the character personalities. Fox had this vulnerable side to him which I personally love seeing in my Heroes and it made me enjoy his character a lot. He was actually the one that brought out all my emotions while reading this story and had me swooning all over the place.

Lola was a character that I admired a lot. Throughout the book we learn different things that she had to go through in her life and the fact that she didn't just give up was something I respected about her. She intrigued me a lot since there was so much I wanted to know about her and loved getting those little parts of her character as I read a long.

Overall, this was a sweet story, with some smexy moments of course, and characters that were both very easy to like. It's made me want to go back and read the previous books again but it could also be read as a standalone if you don't mind mentions of past characters. The whole series is a big recommendation though.

She took a chance on the story with a hero who soon became one of modern day fictions most prolific alpha male characters. Jesse Ward – also affectionately known as The Lord of The Manor, sparked incredible reactions from women across the globe and catapulted Jodi into the world of women’s fiction.

Jodi went on to self-publish the second book in the trilogy, Beneath This Man in Jan 2013, just before Grand Central Publishing, part of the Hachette Book Group, picked up the popular trilogy and the unknown Jodi. Marriage of Inconvenience

MOI BT BANNER.jpg
Marriage of Inconvenience, an all new romantic comedy standalone in the USA Today bestselling, Knitting in the City Series by Penny Reid, is available NOW!

There are three things you need to know about Kat Tanner (aka Kathleen Tyson. . . and yes, she is *that* Kathleen Tyson): 1) She’s determined to make good decisions, 2) She must get married ASAP, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy.

Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes: single, romantically indifferent to her, completely trustworthy. Sure, she might have a wee little crush on Dan the Security Man, but with clear rules, expectations, and a legally binding contract, Kat is certain she can make it through this debacle with her sanity—and heart—all in one piece.

Except, what happens when Dan O’Malley isn’t as indifferent—or as trustworthy—as she thought?

Marriage of Inconvenience is the seventh installment of Penny Reid's Knitting in the City series, but can absolutely be read as a standalone. But if you have read the previous books than you will remember Kat as being the quiet one of the group that. I actually wasn't too sure what to think of her character and I didn't know how her own story would go.

Getting to dig deeper into her character showed us a very strong character, though. Even at times when Kat was being her usual reserved self there was still this edge of power in her personality and I loved getting to see that side to her. I think what I liked most was that she still had her moments where she let the anxiety creep in and was unsure of herself but she would always come out ahead of her fears. She also had many quirks, like her love of cheese, but those things are what I found endearing about her.

There were a lot of awkward moments between Kat and Dan that had me cracking up and made me love both of them even more. Dan was a bit reserved just like Kat but he didn't have such a hard time opening up and I thought it was interesting to get and see him try and break down Kat's walls. Both of them were ridiculously stubborn and refused to see what was right in front of them, but it had me captivated and I couldn't wait to see them figure out they were perfect together.

I'm sad to see my favorite group of knitters come to an end but I will still hold out hope that there will be more to come from Dan's brother. This series is hugely recommended and I think any reader will easily fall in love with this eclectic group of characters.

EXCERPT:

Staring at his chin, because I couldn’t quite lift my eyes any higher, I cleared my throat. “Should we get ready for bed?” “Sure,” he said, his voice a rumble. Dan’s eyes were on me, I felt the weight of them. My hands came to the hem of my skirt and I hesitated, feeling winded for some reason. Sneaking a glance at him, I immediately wished I hadn’t. His gaze was watchful, but it was also unmistakably hot in a way that seemed at once both avaricious and accusatory. The vice tightened around my lungs. Kiss him! Just freaking kiss him! You want numbered steps? Fine. You kiss him- check. He kisses you back- check. Then you make out- check. Check the boxes. I licked my lips, balling my hands into fists at my sides again, preparing to follow my hasty list. But then he said, “Undress me.” My breath caught. On instinct, my eyes lifted and collided with his in much the same way our bodies had collided at the top of the stairs just moments ago. Jarring. Startling. Thrilling. This time I couldn’t look away because this time I was falling. He made no move to catch me. “What? What did you say?” His eyes narrowed, which served only to increase the intensity of his gaze from smolder to inferno. “Take my clothes off.” I stared at him, licking my lips again, and shaking my head. That wasn’t one of my steps. Lifting my chin, I moved to kiss him. He leaned to the side, evading me even as his eyes dropped to my mouth. “Take off my shirt and I’ll give you a kiss.” He’d used his naughty-secret voice. An explosion of heat erupted in my belly, and now I was hot all over. I couldn’t figure out if the heat was embarrassment or arousal or both. He didn’t give me a chance to figure it out. His hands lifted and he undid his cuffs; then they moved to the top button of his shirt. “You better take over,” he said darkly, “or else you’re not getting that kiss.”

Hit Girl

HIT GIRL
Tia Louise
March 19, 2018
Connected to the Bright Lights Duet

From USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise comes a stand-alone love story about revenge and redemption.

My finest trick?
Making you think I’ve forgotten...

Names on a list.
Faces in a crowd.
One little girl.

He told me to get over it, let it go.
I can't do that.
I want them to pay.

Every.
Last.
One.

Omg this book is just brilliant. I've been looking forward to Molly's book since the end of Bright Lights Duet. (Its a great duet) Molly is a total bad ass. She has been through a lot going up and she never really thought she belonged anywhere. She had Lara and luvd her so much but she never knew who her mum was. She had been under Lara's care and has moved around over the years but she was never satisfied. The things that has happened to will always be in her mind. She needed these men to pay for what they did to her and the people she is close to. Plus all the girls that have gone through the same thing. Molly mite be on a revenge mission but she never hurt anyone that didn't deserve it. Over the years she has grown to be such a strong woman and has gotten over some really hard time and with the help of some amazing people she has grown to be a super woman.

Joshua is a brilliant guy I really really like him. He is just the guy that Molly needs. He's strong sexy caring and protective. It's everything Molly needs. It took him a while to get where they are but they both need each other. They complete each other. Yes it's sounds cheesy but these are so good together. There are to many secrets in both sides that need to told. But over the year of them being together and getting closer. There relationship has reached a stage where love is involved which does scare both of them. Cause the secrets are big and it could destroy what they have.

This story is just amazing. I m HUGE fan of this author. I've been reading her books for the very start and I can say her books and writing just seem to get better and better. I luvd that this book has the heroine Molly the stronger character. Don't get me wrong Joshua is a strong guy but the things that Molly has gone through has made her how she is. She mite not always do the right thing and doesn't always put herself first. But I luv her and understand why she does what she does. I just really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend this book.

Tia Louise delivers a thrilling ride with Hit Girl, following Molly Dixon as she works her way down her list of names. Each name she writes on that piece of paper is someone who deserves to be punished for their crimes - and she's just the girl to make sure they get what they deserve.

This book had me captivated from the first scene and from there I was obsessed with finding out what Molly was going to do. She was living this double life that her boyfriend had no clue about so I was on edge the whole time waiting for her secrets to catch up to her. I loved getting to see her navigate her life full of secrets and it made for a very intriguing story.

Joshua was more a background character, at least in my opinion, but I didn't mind. Even though the main focus was on Molly there were still some amazing scenes she and Joshua shared. I loved that he was so understanding when it came to her hidden past and he never pushed her for more than she was willing to give. Even without being focused on too much Joshua definitely stole my heart.

Overall, this is a book I would recommend for anyone that likes a badass heroine. It is connected to the Bright Lights duet but could be read as a standalone as long as you don't mind slight spoilers.
