Scandalous by LJ Shen
Publishing Date: September 29th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what a beautiful chaos it will be.

I totally loved this book. I was addicted from the start to finished. LJ always knows how to keep you in the edge. You never know what's going to happen next I love that she keep me in my toes. The story was hot, forbidden, intense, heartbreaking and just crazy. I love how intense there's are between Trent and Edie the fight they put up was fierce. They both had so much to deal with my heart went out to them.

I would highly recommend this book. If you have read the other books in this series you are just crazy. It's one of the best series out there. LJ really knows how to create the best alpha men and the most strongest woman it's really hard to not love them. Overall if you haven't read this book do it's amazing. I m really hoping that we get more from these hot men.

For me L.J Shen's books are one of the hardest ones for me to review. Not because I don't have things to say but because I just have so much that I want to rave about that I can't even put it into words. Scandalous had so much going on within the story and how complex these characters were that there was just no way I wouldn't be captivated.

"I'm not the prince in this fairy tale. I'm the villain. The poisonous apple, the flame-breathing monster."

Edie and Trent had this connection that could not be ignored and I loved watching them fight against it. So much sexual tension was being thrown around and it really made me sit up and take notice. I actually ended up loving Edie's character which surprised me because I usually don't connect with younger characters, even though they're the closest to my age. With Edie though I never got a sense of immaturity and I always admired the way she handled the cards life dealt her.

On top of how much I liked these characters there was also this unknown mystery of what was going to happen and it drew my attention to this book even more. From reading this author previously I already knew that I could not start this book until I had at least a few hours to do nothing but read. And I was exactly right in my assumption that this story would intrigue me to the point of not putting it down until the very end.

Saying goodbye to these men is so hard and I feel like I'm leaving some of my best friends. We got to see them from high school to taking the world for their own in a boardroom and now it's over which is so sad. I do hope that we'll see more of them in future books somehow because I'm just not ready to let these guys go.
