Synopsis:
I hate Max Davis.
I hate his cocky, overconfident smirk and the way every woman in the office drools over him. I hate the irresistible way he fills out his suit and his manwhore ways. I hate his tempting touch and the way he makes me want to break all the rules. His Clark Kent Glasses, his cheesy sense of humor, his animalistic desire to have me—on my desk, against the filing cabinet, spread out across the conference table.
I hate that he's my number one competition and if we're caught, I lose it all. And most of all, I hate that he's off-limits and I just can't stay away.

Chloe is trying to work her way up to partner in the law firm where she currently works. But in order to do that, work needs to be her only focus. Not friends, or going out, and certainly not men. But when Max get assigned to a case she's currently working she starts to realize just how much she's been missing out on. Max is the playboy of the office, the one that takes that no fraternization policy and stomps on it. Certainly not someone she should get involved in. And yet, she just can't stop fantasizing about him.
I've only read one other book by Lola Darling, Teach Me. But it made a big impression on me, so when I saw she was releasing a new book I just had to have it. Even before I read the blurb I knew I was going to have to read it and that I would love it. And I wasn't wrong.
I enjoyed this story and getting the two very different characters that Lola brought us. It was interesting to see Max, the laid back one, with Chloe, the more uptight one. They prove that opposites not only attract, they work brilliantly together also. I actually enjoyed the fact that the sexiness was a little slow to start because it created some very interesting banter between Max and Chloe as she was turning him down.
It's true that I was expecting something much hotter than what we got. But it didn't disappoint me at all since we got plenty of scenes between these characters with the bonus of a sweet romantic story mixed in. I definitely recommend this book and anything else this author has written, especially Teach Me for anyone in the mood for a sweet and sexy read.
About Lola:
Lola Darling is a romantic with a naughty side. Born and raised in Texas, she's a lover of lip gloss, a Star Wars junkie and full time book nerd.
When not writing steamy, smutty novels, she can be found playing with her cute and cuddly Rottweiler, Rocky, or spoiling her eight adorable nieces and nephews rotten.
