*Synopsis*
Harper Connelly never expected to find herself outside of a tattoo parlor at one in the morning, summoning the nerve to take back her past. She's determined to forget her old life and is looking for an artist who can tattoo over the scars on her back.

Trent Andrews, local legend and owner of the Second Circle tattoo studio, has his own reasons for specializing in inking over scars. And in spite of her mysterious past and the difficult road ahead, he quickly realizes that Harper is funny, smart, and--under her ridiculously oversized clothing and SPF 100 sunscreen--totally hot. He's happy to take on the challenge of designing a meaningful and deadly full-back tattoo for her.

But when cryptic messages start appearing on Harper's phone, strange deliveries arrive at her door, and Second Circle is vandalized, Harper is convinced that her ex-boyfriend has tracked her down, and worse, that he knows about Trent. Running was the only thing that saved her last time, but now that she's started to put down roots in Miami, she'll have to decide if she can finally fight back instead.

This story was amazing! Scarlett Cole came into the author world and kicked some ass with this novel, and I am extremely grateful that I got to read it.

Harper Connelly has been hiding for four years. Hiding from her ex, from her past, and hiding the scars she bears. Finally working up the courage to do something about the scars, she goes to Second Circle to get them tattooed over. Which brings her to Trent Andrews. Trent is an up and coming tattoo artist who is instantly intrigued by the shy, nervous, woman who walks into his studio. Once he hears her story he will stop at nothing to help her overcome her fears.

I loved Trent so much! He was so patient with Harper and helped her through everything she was going through. He didn't just take over her life and let her lean on him for help, instead he showed her the strength she already had in her so that she could move forward on her own and be more confident about herself. The relationship Trent and Harper had was really sweet and loving, and made me a little jealous. Seriously, where can I find a Trent??

The story of their instant connection was very well written and it seemed completely realistic, which insta-love usually doesn't to me. It surprised me how much I liked the fast paced romance they had, but everything going on in the story came together so well that it all just worked and made the overall reading experience enjoyable. There were a few things that I wish were resolved by the end of the story but they didn't stop me from loving on this book.

I am already dying for the next book in the Second Circle Tattoos series and can't wait for everyone else to read this and love it as much as I did. Scarlett Cole, I congratulate you on this amazing debut!
