Good Boy

Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear.

I was really delighted when I heard that we were going to get more of these men. Blake as been how do I put it a very loud character in the Him series so I knew him getting his own book he was going to be full on and oh boy was he. Blake basically doesn't give a crap he is full of life never lets anyone get him and he is just a great guy. Maybe a lil annoying at times but I just couldn't help but luv him. I luv the way he with Jamie and Wes he just puts himself in there life and they don't even care he is to lovable. The only person he doesn't seem to be able to get to luv him is Jamie's very sexy sister Jess. Blake and Jess have had a lil fumble together and it was amazing for both of them but Blake doesn't seem to b able to get anywhere with her. He's done everything to get her attention but it doesn't work until Jamie and Wes's wedding. Where they will be in the same place for a few days and he will get her attention again he needs more of Jess she is just hard to crack.

Jess is a great woman she's a lil unsure what she wants from life and changes her mind very easy. Jess as had quite a few different jobs and she sees herself as the unsuccessful one out of her siblings. But know she things she knows what she wants and that's to be a nurse after what her brother went through she things she can do it and really stick with it. It's going to be hard and she had to tell to her family she is changing her job again but she needs to do this she doesn't want to be a screw up anymore. So when she hears Blake before she see him she knows she can't go there again. Last time was just a moment of madness ye it was good great even but Blake is just not her type he's loud a total jock so just will just try and avoid him but that's just not easy when he's everywhere she is.

I m not going to lie Blake was a lil annoying at first. Yes he's gorgeous and sex but he is so loud and full of himself I just wanted to tell him to Shhhh haha. By the end of the book I was just in luv with him I good to see loads of different sides to him and I luvd them I just couldn't help but fall do it with. Jess was having a bit of a hard time and I understood why she felt the way she did over money and stuff. Her going back to school at her age is hard and very stressful and she does have a soft heart she doesn't like seeing people unhappy but I think what made things a lil hard for her was that she as lost a bit of her confidence and getting it back was going to be hard. Being with Blake was probably a great think cause he could share a bit of his confidence haha. I actually thought Blake and Jess were just brilliant together they balanced each other out a lot and they were a really hot couple Blake is always a lil bit under the collar where Jess was concerned so when they were together he was on fire al the time.

I really enjoyed this book. The story had my interested so the way through. I really enjoyed the characters Blake had my laugh throughout this book and so did Jess in parts. It was also great to get more of Jamie and Wes there books are my favorite MM books and I highly recommend them. I also highly recommend this book as well it's a great start to the series. I m really looking forward to more of these hockey players and there WAGS.

One of the best things about Elle Kenendy and Sarina Bowen writing together is that they always end up making their books fun. There's just a vibe that you get from their books that will make you smile while reading them, and I love it. In Good Boy we get to see more of Blake Riley while he uses he tries to charm Jess Canning back in his bed.

Jess is tired of being the family screw up, though, and she's not willing to make yet another mistake by sleeping with the best man at her brothers wedding. But when her life takes a change and she ends up living in the same area as Blake all bets are off and Blake is even more determined to get Jess to admit she has feelings for him.

Honestly, Blake took some time to get used to and he was a very loud person to read about. His sense of humor was a tad immature, and overall his character was just obnoxious. But after a few chapters I got used to his boisterous spirit and then I ended up liking him for his personality. Even though it wasn't something I was attracted to from the beginning after I got to learn more about Blake I started to think his craziness was actually adorable.

I enjoyed getting to see him pursue Jess with all the confidence in the world. I think that's why I eventually started to like his character, because he never apologized for being obnoxious. He had all the confidence in the world and you either take his loudness or you leave it. He was very different from Jess and I loved that their conflicts are what actually brought them together and it was fun to see these two very different characters actually work as a couple.

Bottom line, read this book if you want to start the year off with a kickass story. This series is a spin off from Him and Us but can easily be read without reading those first. But if you've already read them you will be happy to know that you get a good amount of Wesmie to catch up on in this book.

Sometimes you just can't resist playing with fire…

By day, Aaron Clarkson suits up, shakes hands, and acts the perfect gentleman. But at night, behind bedroom doors, the tie comes off and the real Aaron comes out to play. Mixing business with pleasure got him fired, so Aaron knows that if he wants to work for the country's most powerful senator, he'll have to keep his eye on the prize. That's easier said than done when he meets the senator's daughter, who's wild, gorgeous, and 100 percent trouble.

Grace Pendleton is the black sheep of her conservative family. Yet while Aaron's presence reminds her of a past she'd rather forget, something in his eyes keeps drawing her in. Maybe it's the way his voice turns her molten. Or maybe it's because deep down inside, the ultra-smooth, polished Aaron Clarkson might be more than even Grace can handle.

EXCERPT
His progress toward the door halted when Grace shot to her feet, arms stiff at her sides, those green eyes like glowing jade moons. “I…that isn’t what I was asking for. I just meant, let me help you, in general. I—I didn’t think…”

Aaron’s neck heated. “If you don’t like the idea, we can change it—”

She jumped. She actually jumped straight up in the air, hands flying to her cheeks. “I love it. Oh, please don’t change anything. I was just so surprised.”

He inclined his head, mentally cursing the way his heart decided to make its presence known at such an inconvenient time, walloping his rib cage with thick booms, courtesy of Grace’s pleasure. How juvenile. “I’m kind of surprised myself,” he admitted, then wished he’d kept his mouth shut.

At least until Grace floated toward him. All shining eyes and rosy excitement, she spurred a lust storm in his stomach. “It’s so much better when you say what you’re thinking, Aaron.”

“You mentioned that.”

And of course, it made him want to say more. Say whatever it would take to get her legs wrapped around his hips. To rock between her thighs until her wetness drenched the fly of his pants. “Get away from me, Grace,” he rasped. “It would be just like me to take advantage of you after having to tell that story.”

Silence deepened around them. “How can you say that after you just found a way for me to rebuild the camp?” It seemed as if her entire body lifted and fell on a harsh sob. “Last night, you asked me if I still saw some good in you…and I didn’t answer. How could I not have answered you?” She shook her gorgeous head. “I didn’t mean to—”

Aaron shot forward, capturing her unspoken words with his own mouth. Guilt. There had been even more guilt in her eyes. Aaron’s response was pure denial. Not because of me. Not over me. But as soon as their lips joined, his mind wiped clean of anything but Grace’s one-of-a-kind taste. She was juicy, sweet, refreshing, intoxicating madness. He let it pull him down into its depths—her depths—gathering up her taste greedily so he could live with the effect as long as possible, even though surely a man couldn’t withstand this type of arousal for an extended length of time. He’d want to fuck her again as soon as he came. It was a certainty his body was all too eager to confirm. Yet protectiveness held him in a state of limbo. Wanting—needing—to mate with her delicious body while determined to protect her from himself.

Couldn’t she sense the past meaningless encounters he wore like gloves, cheapening everything he touched? Couldn’t she sense his inability to be meaningful to her? Grace should have someone with substance, not someone who couldn’t even garner the love of his own family. Someone who considered the ramifications of his actions and how they would serve as betrayal. This is how you repay me?

The voice from his not-so-distant past had Aaron tearing his mouth away with a guttural growl, clasping Grace by the shoulders. Too hard. Ease up. “Get away.”

“If you really want that, let me go,” she whispered.

God, he couldn’t do it. Not with her face tipped back, lips swollen and shined up, those eyelids halfway fallen. He’d never in his life had trouble resisting sex. It was always a logical decision based on his needs. This? There was nothing cut and dried about it. His attraction to Grace was messy and wild and untapped. Made his chest expand with the effort to contain the expanding of something unfamiliar. Crazy and blinding. His dick needed a good, rough handling from one woman only. Grace. And she wasn’t pushing him away. Seemed like she wanted the job, too, her tits sliding up and down his abs with every breath. Give her one more chance. Show her what she’s in for with a bastard like you. With a muttered epithet, Aaron raked his hand up the back of Grace’s thigh, sliding it down the back of her tights, and settling his middle finger in the valley of her ass. “Get away from me,” he managed, wedging his straying digit a little more securely, earning him a closed-lipped noise.

“No,” she gasped after a few seconds.

Aaron’s tether broke. Recapturing Grace’s mouth with an obscene amount of tongue, he backed them toward the bed, satisfaction rippling in his middle when she went down beneath him, her legs falling open in welcome. He draped his body over Grace’s slighter one, eager grunts leaving his mouth as he positioned himself over her pussy and bore down with his erection. Their groans were pain-filled, reaching every corner of the cabin, breaking off when Aaron got back to kissing that addictive mouth, yanking the oversized sweater up, up to her belly, so he could rock against her sex with only his pants and her tights as obstructions.

“Aaron.”

“You were warned,” he reminded her with a strangled shout, delivered into the space above her head. “Three times, Grace. That’s three times more than I’d give anyone else.” He slid up and back in the cradle of her legs, groaning over the rasping friction her tights delivered to his stiff, fuck-hungry dick. “Make it four times. I gave you an out back at the house. You should have taken it.”

When Grace should have been trembling or alarmed by the cut steel in his voice, she only stretched out beneath him like a cat, opening up for him. Almost preening beneath his rough ministrations. “Maybe I should have. But we’re here now, so stop trying to scare me.” Her fingertips moved down Aaron’s chest to the seat of his pants, where she smoothed her palm over the curve of his cock, which started him panting like a marathon runner. “You don’t really want to scare me, do you, Aaron?”

Christ, her soft words, the sight of her, were choking him up. Her hair was a haphazard display framing her face, those crooked front teeth somehow making him twice as eager to seal their mouths together again. He was a hunter who’d discovered a sprite dancing in the woods and dragged her home, intending to use her body for vigorous relief, but got forgiveness in return. “No, I don’t. I don’t want to scare you.”

“I know,” she breathed, unfastening his belt buckle. “I just know.”

I may have forgotten to review this book, but I certainly didn't forget the story! Aaron and Grace are characters that have stuck with me because of how much they both impacted me.

To be honest I got a little afraid when I realized Grace was the daughter of a Presidential candidate because I really don't need politics in my books right now when I'm trying to escape them in real life. I really didn't have anything to fear though because there were no overly political things involved in this book that bothered me. Instead I came to really like Grace and her need to change life for the better. She was a headstrong character that went after what she wanted, and I really admired that.

Aaron never thought he would be the "one" for some woman out there. But when Grace came along she started to make him realize that he wasn't meant to be alone in life. I loved these two together and they were smoking up the pages of this book. There were moments between them that had me fanning myself but also a lot of moments that had me happy sighing, and I really liked how Tessa Bailey was able to bring so many emotions out of these characters.

Bottom line, you seriously need to read this book. The Clarkson family's trip has been one hell of a ride and i's not one you want to miss. I can't wait to get Peggy's book next and I can already tell that her story is going to be a great addition to this series.

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans, and laptop, and drove cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend, and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

The Bachelor Auction

NOW IN PAPERBACK!
The first book in an all-new contemporary romance series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken.

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .

Barnes & Noble: http://bit.ly/2gMQMVY

A modern day Cinderella meets her prince in this fun and witty tale of two complete opposites, a cock, and an ass named Sheldon.

Jane was sure that her one meeting with the handsome stranger that saved her from an embarrassing dance floor incident would be just that, one meeting and one meeting only. So when a mysterious older, little bit crazy, gentleman hires her cleaning service and needs her to be a live-in maid at his ranch the last thing she expected was to meet her stranger there. And she definitely wasn't expecting her Prince Charming to turn into an evil toad.

Brock Wellington wants nothing to do with his families ranch and hates stepping foot inside the house that holds too many memories. But when his grandfather requests that Brock be auctioned off as a billionaire bachelor, and that the bidder would potentially become his wife, it's the one place he could escape to to think. The last thing he expected was to run into his mystery girl from the dance, and he doesn't want her there bringing up even more memories that he want's to keep buried.

New Adult, Contemporary, Suspense...I don't care what kind of romance it is, Rachel Van Dyken can write it. I've read multiple books by her and I have loved every single one. Her writing style and unique way of always adding some humor in subtle ways draws me in every time, and I don't think I'll ever get enough. This story was no different from her usual style and I really enjoyed reading it.

The characters were great to get to know and I liked that they were easy to relate to and connect with. Not that their situation was one I think anyone has ever been in before, but the writing made it easy to read about Jane and Brock as if you were being told a story about your best friends. I think that's why I liked them so much and wanted more of them. Even in the beginning when I had my doubts about Jane's personality and if I could like her, it was still fun to read about her life.

Bottom line, if you're a fan of this author, or genre, or just like the cover, read this book. It's funny and real, and there's a hot billionaire in it so really only insane people should be the ones not wanting to read this.

Rachel Van Dyken is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of New Adult, Regency, and contemporary romances. When she's not writing you can find her drinking coffee at Starbucks and plotting her next book while watching The Bachelor. She keeps her home in Idaho with her husband, son, and their snoring boxer, Sir Winston Churchill. She loves to hear from readers!

EXCERPT

The final house was another split-level, built into the hill. The top floor had a patio, most of the bedrooms were on the middle floors, and the garage sat at the bottom.

As we entered the foyer we ran into the real estate agent, another woman, this one middle-aged. Her suit was dove gray, her scarf a riot of pinks and yellows like an Easter basket. “Welcome,” she said, and held out her hand to shake ours. “Mr. and Mrs.…?”

“Jones,” Chino said with a broad smile before leading me away to explore the property.

One of the bedrooms was built into the hill and only had one tiny window. As we took a turn through the room I said, “Here’s where we’d build the private dungeon, don’t you think, Mr. Jones?”

He slid up behind me, his hands fitting around my hips. “Would we? What would we furnish it with?”

“With all this wall space you could have a St. Andrew’s Cross over there, hang all the floggers and whips here, a sling there—”

“A sling?”

“Definitely,” I said with a knowing nod.

He slid his hand up my body until two fingers were holding my chin. “I like your…taste in interior decoration,” he said as he turned my head to the side. His grip tightened suddenly and I realized he had my other arm by the wrist, effectively trapping me in his embrace while he took lush liberties with his tongue in my mouth. He tasted dark and sweet and fresh all at once, and as I sucked in a breath I could feel how tightly he held me, the heat of his skin soaking through his shirt and warming my back. I could imagine us in the room outfitted as a dungeon, getting ready to play in it for the first time, and all the unfulfilled desire from last night flooded me once again.

We separated quickly when the realtor brought another couple into the room. I was flushed, my breath heaving, my lips tingling, but the realtor just smiled and the male half of the couple gave Chino a wink.

“Picking out drapes is my kink,” Chino said to the guy, as he slipped his sunglasses on.

He led me back to the car by the hand. It took me an unsteady moment to climb into my seat.

He started the engine but didn’t pull away, turning to me instead and saying, “So. This sexual chemistry thing.”

“Yeah?” I said, still reeling in a happy, hormonal daze. “I mean, yeah.”

He smiled. “Not just me, then.”

“Fuck no.”

“Tsk. You’re supposed to say fuck yes.”

“You’re the one who said no to fucking me last night.” I couldn’t resist needling him about it since I couldn’t outright complain. I knew he’d done the responsible thing, the right thing, but I wasn’t used to being strung along and hunger for him gnawed at me.

He looked at the beads and silver on his arm and I realized he had a watch on, too. “When I fuck, I like to take my time. And we’ve got to get you back to town before five o’clock.”

Hard Rhythm is Cecilia Tan's third book in her Secrets of a Rockstar series and the book that now holds the title for hottest in the series. This is Maddie and Chino's story, whom you know if you've read the previous books, and follows them as they explore the chemistry between them. Chino never thought he would get a chance at the sexy hostess he see's every time he's at L.A's most exclusive sex club. He finally gets his chance at having her, though, when Maddie asks for help recording her vlog videos to review sex toys, as part of her new job, and the chemistry between them explodes into an intense heat neither of them expected.

What I liked most about these characters is that they had no shame in their kinks. We didn't get the shy little heroine that had to be taught everything, instead we were delivered a heroine and Hero both that knew exactly what they wanted and weren't afraid to take it. I loved that they let the passion between them finally take over and give in to what their bodies were in desperate need of.

Maddie and Chino still had a lot to explore between one another and I loved seeing that they were able to do that with no big issues. Chino definitely had to work on Maddie to get her to open up to him but it wasn't something that was dwelled on within the story. Overall the book was just full of intense sexiness between a couple that knew what they wanted and took it.

Don't worry though, there is still plenty story to keep you interested between all of the smexy scenes. I definitely recommend this book and hope people will give it a try. It's not necessary to read this series in order so you can start with whatever book intrigues you most.

The Cottage at Firefly Lake

Title: THE COTTAGE AT FIREFLY LAKE
Author: Jen Gilroy
Series: Firefly Lake, #1
On Sale: January 31, 2017
Publisher: Forever
Mass Market: $5.99 USD
eBook: $5.99 USD

In the tradition of New York Times bestselling authors Susan Wiggs and RaeAnne Thayne comes an emotional second chance love story about redemption and finding your way home, the first in a new series by debut author Jen Gilroy.

Some mistakes can never be fixed and some secrets never forgiven . . . but some loves can never be forgotten.

Charlotte Gibbs wants nothing more than to put the past behind her, once and for all. But now that she's back at Firefly Lake to sell her mother's cottage, the overwhelming flood of memories reminds her of what she's been missing. Sun-drenched days. Late-night kisses that still shake her to the core. The gentle breeze off the lake, the scent of pine in the air, and the promise of Sean's touch on her skin . . . True, she got her dream job traveling the world. But at what cost?

Sean Carmichael still doesn't know why Charlie disappeared that summer, but after eighteen years, a divorce, and a teenage son he loves more than anything in the world, he's still not over her. All this time and her body still fits against his like a glove. She walked away once when he needed her the most. How can he convince her to stay now?

EXCERPT

“Do you still want to sell the cottage?” He took a shallow breath and leaned forward. Which was a mistake because now he was in touching and tasting distance of her.

“Of course.” Charlie looked down, but not before Sean caught the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. “But my mom loved Firefly Lake. Maybe we can come up with a better option, one that won’t change everything she loved. What do you think?”

Sean’s breathing sped up. By working with her and Mia, he might be able to protect Carmichael’s. Protect his family, his community, and his way of life. But he’d also have to spend more time with Charlie. “I guess I could talk to the chamber of commerce and the Rotary Club.”

“You’re president of the Firefly Lake Rotary Club.” Charlie’s eyes twinkled. “I saw a picture in Nick’s office of the two of you at some Rotary dinner. You have influence.”

“Maybe I do, but why should I use it to help you and your sister?”

“This isn’t about helping us. It’s about Carmichael’s and Firefly Lake, and this whole special area.” Her eyes were wise, seeing through him like always. Seeing what mattered to him.

“I’ll think about it.” His gaze locked with hers and something sizzled between them. The heat that had always been there—but had deepened because they weren’t the kids they’d been.

“We don’t have anything against you.” She took a business card from the holder on the desk and traced the letters of his name. “But Mia. . . she’s dealing with . . .some stuff . . . She’s the only family I’ve got.”

Sean knew all about family loyalty. How it could suffocate you and force you into choices you didn’t want to make. “What kind of stuff?”

“I can’t . . . ” She swallowed, and a pulse worked in her jaw. “A Tat Chee development would hurt a lot of people. Mom wouldn’t have wanted something that hurt people who were her friends. Hurt the place she never forgot. Mia and I don’t want that either.”

“It has nothing to do with you and me?” Sean looked into her face, the girl he’d loved still there beneath the woman she’d become.

“Of course not.” Charlie’s voice trembled.

“Deny it all you want, but we’re still hooked together.” He gave a harsh laugh. “Beyond trying to get it out of our systems, I don’t know what the hell we can do about it.”

Charlie came around the desk. She licked her lips and his body leaped. “Even if there is still something between us, we can’t do anything about it.”

“Starting something again would be a bad idea.” Sean pushed the words out, over the tightness in his chest.

“A very bad idea.” Her voice was a sensual caress.

“What if we can’t help it?” He stood and shoved the chair away, sending it crashing into the wall to overturn. He reached for her, and the shock of her warm, bare skin jolted through him.

“I shouldn’t . . . ” But even as she spoke, she leaned into him, soft, like the Charlie he remembered. Her head fit into the curve of his shoulder like it belonged there.

“Me neither.” He dipped his head and brushed his mouth against her neck, peaches and her scent greeting him. The one he could have picked out blindfolded even after all these years.

“Your mom told me to stay away from you.” She angled her neck toward his mouth.

“I told her to butt out.” He licked the sensitive cord in her neck, and she gasped.

“You did?” She whimpered as he intensified the caress.

He drew back. “You and me, we’re none of her business.”

“There isn’t a you and me. There can’t be. I’m only here for just over two more weeks.” Her words came out in a breathy moan. “Whatever this is, it can’t go anywhere. I don’t want anyone to get hurt.” Her small hands were gentle on his forearms. That gentleness was a side of her she didn’t let many people see.

“I know the rules.” He pulled her close again...

The Cottage at Firefly Lake is Jen Gilroy's debut romance book, but you honestly can't tell. She effortlessly brings this wonderful tale of second chances to us in such a sweet and romantic way that you won't want to put this book down.

I really liked Charlotte and Sean together and I was so happy that they didn't give up on each other. They were far from perfect characters but seeing them try to move past their mistakes was very entertaining. Their story does involve a little drama but I didn't mind since it actually peaked my interest even more. Along with the main characters, we're introduced to a few secondary characters that will leave you wanting more.

The one complaint that I had was Charlotte. I wanted to like her character so much more than I did but I just didn't feel like there was much development of her character. There were more than a few times that she wasn't as strong as I would have liked and it didn't always seem to go with the character we were first introduced to.

Overall, if you're looking for a romantic tale of forgiveness than this is the one you need to choose next. I had no problem sitting down and reading this book all the way through because it was just that intriguing, and I hope that's how this story will be for everyone else.

Jen Gilroy grew up under the big sky of western Canada. After many years in England, she now lives in a small town in eastern Ontario where her Irish ancestors settled in the nineteenth century. She's worked in higher education and international marketing but, after spending too much time in airports and away from her family, traded the 9-5 to write contemporary romance to bring readers' hearts home.

A small-town girl at heart, Jen likes ice cream, diners, vintage style and all things country. Her husband, Tech Guy, is her real-life romance hero, and her daughter, English Rose, teaches her to cherish the blessings in the everyday.

Ruthless

Title: Ruthless
Series: Playboys in Love
Author: Gina L. Maxwell
Publication Date: January 30, 2017

People call me Ruthless for a reason.

Whether I’m in the court room or in the bedroom, my reputation is well-earned. I’m either working hard, working out, or working my way into some woman's panties. But none of them share my particular kink, and I walk away feeling unsatisfied.

Until I met her.

She’s a friend of a friend, which makes her off-limits in my book. But then temptation had me by the balls and I had her up against a wall. She literally fucked my world off its axis, but it can’t happen again.

My plan was avoidance, but that got blown to shit when my firm hired her as a new junior attorney. Now I’m her boss, and I’m supposed to act like I don’t want to bend her over my desk every five minutes.

But I’ve never held myself back with anything before, so consequences be damned, it’s time to show her how damn good it feels...to be ruthless.

A Hero that wears both suits and piercings? Hell to the yes! I loved that Roman was such a contradiction and it made him a really unique character. It's not often that I would say two very different personalities could come together so well but this author did a brilliant job at blending the two. Roman was a perfect mix of suit wearing lawyer who could eat you alive in the Court room and also sexy stripper that you'd beg to eat you alive in the bedroom.

Roman and Addison were a great couple and they both had a really high energy that you could feel throughout the book. I liked that they complimented each other so well. Both were fierce when it came to their work but neither of them were afraid to go out and have fun, which I loved.

I've had the first book in this series, Shameless, on my Kindly for a few weeks and now I want to kick myself for not reading it yet. All of the characters were hot as Hades and I definitely need to go back and read about Jane and her own hot stripper. Ms. Maxwell did a really good job at giving us information about the secondary characters in this story while not letting them take over the story. I'm so curious about the rest of these men so I can't wait to read more of them!

An avid romance novel addict, she began writing as an alternate way of enjoying the romance stories she loves to read. Her debut novel, Seducing Cinderella, hit both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists in less than four weeks, and she’s been living her newfound dream ever since.

When she’s not reading or writing steamy romance novels, she spends her time losing at Scrabble (and every other game) to her high school sweetheart, doing her best to hang out with their teenagers before they fly the coop, and dreaming about her move to sunny Florida once they do.

Accidentally on Purpose

Accidentally on Purpose
A Heartbreaker Bay Novel
Jill Shalvis

There’s no such thing as a little in love…

Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime.

There’s no such thing as a little in lust…

Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him.

There is such a thing as…

As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along.

Jill Shalvis has been a favorite author of mine since I was in high school and sneaking my mothers romance books from her shelf. But I was reading to beat her door down and demand this book when I learned we were finally going to get Elle and Archer's story. They've been the characters that I've noticed since book one because of the unquestionable connection they shared.

In Accidentally on Purpose we get to learn the past these two characters share and how it has impacted the people they are now. I loved learning more about Elle and Archer and getting to see all that sexual chemistry they had between them. I loved every single scene where they were together because it was undeniable that they wanted each other, even if they themselves didn't always recognize that.

Elle is probably one of my favorite heroines from this series because she had amazing strength. It was rare to see her letting something get to her and instead she would just brush things off. Though when we did see her vulnerable side it was just as great to see how she handled those moments.

Bottom line, this is more then a recommended book from me; this is a book I want to scream at ever person I know to read. Archer and Elle are one sexy couple and you will be severely missing out if you don't experience them together.
