The Wedding Pact

THE WEDDING PACT
 by Katee Robert

Carrigan O'Malley has fallen in love with family enemy #1, James Halloran and he has absolutely no intention of letting her get away.  THE WEDDING PACT is the second book in a smoking-hot series about the O'Malleys—wealthy, powerful, and full of scandalous family secrets from New York Times Bestseller Katee Robert and Forever Romance.

Series: The O’Malley Series #2
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 26, 2016
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing- Forever

Synopsis:

Carrigan O'Malley has always known her arranged marriage would be more about power and prestige than passion. But after one taste of the hard-bodied, whiskey-voiced James Halloran, she's ruined for anyone else. Too bad James and his family are enemy number 1.

Hallorans vs. O'Malleys—that's how it's always been. James should be thinking more about how to expand his family's empire instead of how silky Carrigan's skin is against his and how he can next get her into his bed. Those are dangerous thoughts. But not nearly as dangerous as he'll be if he can't get what he wants: Carrigan by his side for the rest of their lives.

Wow! This book kept me in suspense the whole time reading. My heart was beating so fast during James and Carrigan's story, and I really had no clue how this was going to end.

Carrigan has escaped her father's grasp long enough, and he's finally laid down the law about her getting married. To her father, Carrigan isn't a daughter, she's a business pawn that he can use to make arrangements with and gain more power. She starts to come to terms with the fact that an arranged marriage is going to be pushed on her, but then James Halloran, the guy that kidnapped her, comes around.

James has never wanted to be like his father, the ruthless man that would do anything to get what he wants, including hurt his own children. When his father ends up in jail and he becomes the head of the family, he'll have to do anything it takes to take care of his family. But then he see's Carrigan for the first time after he kidnapped her and her sister-in-law, and all his plans go right out the window. He know's he shouldn't approach her, knows that they could both end up dead if their secret is found out, and he also knows that he can't give her up.

I loved these characters, their strength and passion made them truly realistic to me, and it's what made me fall for both of them. Carrigan and James were both the black sheep in their families, they didn't do everything that their parents said, and their first priority was never what would better their family business. Instead, they wanted to improve their family, and not have to achieve that in criminal ways.

That's what made this book so interesting, it wasn't just about the Mafia, it was about two people desperately needing to get out from the hold of the Mafia. I was stuck in this book from the very first chapter and from beginning to end my heart was racing. So many people are going to go into this book the same way I did, thinking they knew what was going to happen, but let me just warn you now, you will absolutely not know what is going on!

Bottom line, The Wedding Pact is one crazy rollercoaster that everyone needs to jump on and ride. It's suspenseful, romantic, sexy as hell, and I already want to read it all over again.

Coming in July 2016, An Indecent Proposal
Get to know another O’Malley sibling- Cillian O’Malley

Greed. Ambition. Violence. Those are the "values" Olivia Rashidi learned from her Russian mob family-and the values she must leave behind for the sake of her daughter. To save her family, Olivia sets out to discover Cillian's own secrets, but the real revelation is how fast-and how hard-she's falling for him.

Plagued by a violent past, Cillian is more vulnerable than anyone realizes. Anyone except Olivia, whose beauty, compassion, and pride have him at "hello," even if she's more inclined to say good-bye to an O'Malley. While his proposal of sex with no strings seems simple, what he feels for her isn't, especially after he learns that she belongs to a rival crime family. Cillian knows that there is no escape from the life, but Olivia may be worth trying-and dying-for . . .

The Air He Breathes

Series: Elements #1
Author: Brittainy C. Cherry
Publication date: September 25, 2015

Synopsis

I was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.

In all honestly I was warned about this book. "You'll cry your eyes out," they said. Did I listen? Nope. I went into this thinking that it would be yet another book that made everyone else super sappy and that I wouldn't like it as much as them. Well I was very wrong because I bawled like a baby during this book and loved it!

The story of Tristan and Elizabeth was so well executed and this author did a wonderful job of taking the reader and placing them in this world that it seemed effortless. Elizabeth and Tristan both had tragedy in their lives and were dealing with it in different ways. Tristan secluding himself, while Elizabeth tried to get back to her normal everyday life. When Elizabeth meets Tristan she see's the sadness in his eyes, so when people warn her away from him she doesn't heed their warnings, instead she makes friends with him. Together these two broken people may be able to heal.

"But as long as air moves in and out of my lungs, as long as I breathe, I will fight for you. I will fight for us."

What made this story so emotional is the attachment I had to these characters and how much I needed to see them be alright. While reading, they weren't just fictional people in a book they were my life for the hours I had this book in my possession and that right there made me fall in love with this author. Anyone who can write a story that affects me as much as this did and make me ignore life for however long it takes me to read it is a favorite author of mine. This may be my first book by Brittainy C. Cherry but when I can handle another emotional book you bet your ass I will be reading one of hers.

Bottom line, this is a book that needs to be read by everyone. The Air He Breathes is the epitome of beauty and the love that comes from great loss is truly spectacular. So basically what I'm saying is if you don't read this book I cannot be your friend.

A shadow eclipsed the sun and Gabby looked up, mouth running dry, as Blake headed her way. Apart from his bike, he towered over her. His shoulder-length hair was drawn back into one of those man buns that had recently become so popular, but she suspected he’d made it his thing before it was a “thing.” Once again he’d opted for a pair of worn jeans that fit his body to perfection, with a black leather vest, otherwise known as a cut, sporting a president patch, his name, and the name of their township.
He strode up to her with absolute confidence, his expression set in what she decided to dub constipated. When he reached her, only stopping when they were nearly touching from shoulder to thigh, he folded his arms across his broad chest and stared her down.
“Didn’t think you’d show.”
Seeing right through his macho posturing, Gabby canted her head to the side and smiled sweetly.
“Well, you did invite me.”
“Ash invited you. I was simply being nice.”
Gabby snorted. Nice wasn’t a word she would use to describe him. “I didn’t realized that word was part of your vocabulary.”
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”
“If you want me to go, just say so.”
“You’d like that, I’m sure.” His lips pressed together and his jaw clenched. “Ash wants you here, and here you are. What more is there to say.”
“How about welcome to the party for starters.”
“My manners don’t extend that far. Look, lady, we’re not friends. You’re my kid’s teacher and for some reason he likes you, so I’m going to play nice. Grab yourself a plate, mingle, whatever. It’s no sweat off my back what you decide to do. Just don’t piss anyone off.”
Any more than she clearly already had him? Mirroring his stance, Gabby narrowed her eyes on him, her irritation piqued. “Look, Mr. Mahone, I’m not here to pick a fight with you, so how about you dial down the snarky attitude a few notches.” One of his dark brows winged up making him appear far more intense than usual. Undaunted, she pressed on. “Furthermore, you claim that I gave you an unfair shake, and maybe I did. So this is me extending an olive branch. I came here, curious to see if you would prove me wrong, but so far you’re only succeeding in proving me right.”
She watched as his gray eyes grew hard and a muscle in his jaw pulsed. Whatever he wanted to say, he didn’t. “Suit yourself, teach. I’d stick around and introduce ya, but I’ve got other shit to do.”
With that, he turned and marched away, his shoulders stiff and his long strides eating up the patchy lawn faster than a herd of cattle.

This was my first book by J.C Valentine, and I was blown away with how much I enjoyed her writing. I'm already looking forward to getting more from this series and also the author.

The book follows Blake Mahone as he tries to settle into fatherhood, taking care of his kid at the same time he has to take care of his club. He fumbles around a bit in his responsibilities before meeting Gabby Morgan, his sons teacher. His son instantly takes a liking to her, but for Blake it's hard to trust another female in his life so he does his best to push her away. Gabby doesn't give up easily, though, not once she realizes what a special person Blake is.

I'm a huge fan of MC books but there are times where the actual story gets lost in all the going ons of the Club, and that definitely didn't happen with this book, which was refreshing. I really liked this story and how focused on the main characters it was. Their story never got pushed to the background, instead staying strong throughout the whole book. Gabby and Blake were both great characters and seeing their differences bring them together was very intriguing.

Overall, this author just became one of my automatic buys and is on my stalk-like-crazy list. I can't wait to see what direction she takes this series in but I already know it's going to be great.

Excerpt

“What are you wearing?”

A pause, as if she’d shocked him. “You’re hitting on me.”

“Are you complaining?” She twisted around in her chair and stared into the mirror on the wall across from her. When he didn’t immediately respond, she kept going. The only alternative was to back down, and Carrigan was so goddamn tired of backing down. The only reason she kept taking James’s calls was because of the distraction he offered her. If he wasn’t going to play, there was no reason for her to stay on the phone.

She really wanted him to stay on the phone. “Shy? That’s okay, I’ll go first. I’m wearing a thin white tank top and a pair of black panties.” She was a liar, but it would take all of five seconds to make it the truth.

“Lovely, you’re testing me.” His voice gained an edge.

Good. At least someone was feeling as out of control as she was. “I suppose you’d like photographic proof.” She stood and shimmied out of her long skirt, and then pinned the phone between her ear and shoulder while she unhooked her bra and took it off. “Hold, please.”

Ignoring his cursing, she adjusted her angle so he would have to be blind to miss the faint outline of her nipples against the fabric of her tank top, and snapped a picture. She knew she was playing with fire. Good lord, of course she knew. But she wasn’t about to stop. She grinned as she sent the picture.

Carrigan put the phone back to her ear in time to hear his sharp inhale. “Your turn.” She held her breath, waiting to see if he’d actually do it. Receiving pictures was one thing. Putting them out in the world was entirely another. Really, she shouldn’t have taken the risk in the first place. There was no telling what he would do with them—they might show up on the Internet. Then who would want to marry her?

Funny, but the idea of countless men checking out her rack didn’t bother her nearly as much if it meant she dodged the marriage bullet. The shame on her family might be enough that her father would send her away permanently. She’d like to spend some time in New York or LA or even New Orleans. Maybe Rome or Paris or Tokyo. The world was so damn big and she’d only seen a little slice of it.

Her phone beeped, pulling her out of her thoughts. She glanced at the picture he’d sent and started to shake. Oh my God. James was shirtless, wearing only those goddamn jeans she couldn’t seem to get enough of. And they were unbuttoned—a clear invitation if she ever saw one. An invitation she desperately wanted to accept. “Damn, James. Somebody taught you how to selfie.”

“Maybe I’m a natural.” His voice was little more than a growl. “You started this, lovely. Tell me what’s next.”

The strange mix of command and handing her the reins got her head back in the game. She walked over to her bed and climbed onto it, trying to ignore the trembling in her legs. She could be in charge. She wanted to be. “I’m lying on my bed.”

“What color are the sheets?”

The question seemed to carry far more import than it should. “White.”

“They don’t suit you. Red is your color. Go on.” He sounded so damn imperial, as if he actually knew her. He didn’t. No one did, really. She wore so many masks, sometimes she worried she’d forget the woman at the center of them all.

But this time he was right. She would have chosen red for herself.

Carrigan put the thought away and focused on the now. “You talk too much.”

“My mistake.” He didn’t sound the least bit sorry. Good. She wasn’t, either. “How do you want it, lovely? Rough, I’d bet. You’re not fucking breakable, and I think you love to be reminded of that fact.” Something rustled on his end of the line. “Close your eyes.”

She obeyed without thinking, and then instantly snapped them open. “I thought I was in charge.”

“You let me know if I get something wrong.” His laugh told her how unlikely he found the possibility.

Catherine is used to her life being shitty so when her husband dies and leaves her nothing, leading her to live in her car, she isn't surprised. Then Rand shows up and offers her a place to stay and a helping hand to get back on her feet, which is something she definitely wasn't expecting. Rand doesn't know much about Cat, other then what he saw of her at The Silo, the secret sex club he works out, but he does know that he needs to help her. And if letting her stay at his place means he gets some hot nightly sex every night, well that's just a bonus.

I was a little nervous going into this book because I wasn't sure how I would feel about Catherine's character. I didn't know much about her before reading her book but I did know that she was married for money, and that's what had me so hesitant. However, this is a Sawyer Bennett book and it's almost impossible for me to now like whatever story she brings up, so I had nothing to fear. Catherine's situation made a lot of sense once I learned everything about her past, and I actually ended up loving her more for what she did. Her character was full of strength and determination, which drew me towards liking her.

Rand wasn't an overly complicated character, and I liked the simplicity of him. He had a past which he moved on from to pursue other things, and he had a protective side that I found sexy as hell. The way he took on Catherine and her problems without a complaint was amazing of him. His sexy side is what made me fall in love with him, I just loved how open he was and that there was no judgment for the things Catherine liked. Together they were one sexy ass couple.

The smexiness level of this one was both good and bad. When we got the sex scenes between Rand and Catherine they were pantie melting worthy and will leave you panting. But also, I felt like there wasn't enough of those scenes throughout the book. I think I was a little too excited for those scenes, so then when there wasn't as many as I expected I got a little disappointed. But don't think that this book didn't have some very sexy moments, because trust me, it did!

Overall, this was a highly enjoyable book that I can't wait for everyone to read. Rand and Catherine were both amazing characters that will draw you into the book and captivate you with their story. The epilogue has me dying for Logan's book so I will, not to patiently, be waiting for that.

Catherine is going through a really shitty time he hubby as died an she as been left with nothing she was told to left the house with just her belongs she was just so lucky that Rand found her in her car where she was going sleep but Rand being the most caring guy ever he would have her staying in her car Catherine was known around The Silo an all the men there protected the women there so Rand was her White Knight an saved her

Rand is a really good guy he would help anymore an in some way he helps people out to much even people who have been arseholes to him but Catherine was different Ye she was beautiful sexy an awesome at sexy time but there was something dragging him to her but he didn't want to have sex with her cause she would thing that he was using her an he didn't want at even if she made him hard all the time but Catherine had nothing no money an she didn't want charity an after the way she as been treated an brought up give a blow job or having sex to pay for something is nothing to her but Rand wasn't having it he would made her see it wasn't all about sex an that people could love her an she could trust them

Once these 2 got started having sex holy god they couldn't stop an all it took was Catherine turning up at The Silo an ask him to go to one of the rooms with an that was it he wasn't sharing her with anyone no one would get to c her anymore she was his an this did scare the shit out of him an Catherine but like I said once they had sexy time once that was it she sure knew what she was doing an he luvd what she did to him an she was the same they brought out the best in each other

There was a lot of shit that Catherine as dealt with an was still dealing with an once she poured her heart out to Rand this just made him even more protective of her she needed someone to care for her an not use her an with his feeling getting stronger for her everyday he knew that she was rite for him but Rand hadn't had a relationship in ages an his last one wasn't that great but he had to give this a chance cause he hadn't felt this way in ever

Loved this book so much it was brilliant I've enjoyed this series so much the series just keeps getting better an better I think the characters r just great an I get sucked in from page 1 I m not going to lie though I was a lil scared when I found out the heroine was going to b Catherine after seeing in the last book I was not sure how it was going to go but I ended up loving her straight away an there is just no way that uses can't like it luv Rand u want him to look after me he is just amazing with Catherine an his friends I would highly recommend this book an series if u haven't started do the story is great sexy time really hot an the men r really really sexy an so r the women it's hard not to like xxx
