Doe has no memory of her past life. All she knows is that she was found in the trash, bloody and bruised. The cops never tried hard to find out who she really was, thinking that she was just another hooker roughed up by her pimp. Homeless and scared she hooks up with an actual hooker, Nikki. Nikki tells her that her only option of survival is to go to the party Nikki is going to, hook up with one of the bikers there, become their whore, and then she'll be taken care of.

Brantley King just got out of prison after serving years for murder. He's a tattoo artist, a drug dealer, and a thief in order to survive. Ever since he was twelve years old it was him and his best friend Preppy. They didn't rely on other people to get what they needed, they made their own way and took what they wanted. Asking no one for help. King hasn't had an easy life and he's a changed man now that he's out of prison. When he first see's Doe at his welcome home party, he doesn't understand the possessiveness he feels, but he wants her, and takes what he wants.

I. Loved. King! He was possessive and so intense and sexy as fuck. I literally just want to rant about this story and the characters and how much I liked them but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. This story consumed me and once I had started it I did not once get up from my couch until I was finished. WHICH I was so mad about! That stupid cliffhanger :( It killed me and then I just still laid on my couch not knowing what to do because I just wanted more!

Okay, I'm getting off topic here. Anyway, this was such a fucked up story that makes you question why you like this character so much. King was angry, and mean, and he scared Doe at times, so it makes you think you are a little insane to like such a man. But underneath all of that, King cares about people so deeply that you almost can't comprehend it. He doesn't fuck around with the fake smiles, and the small conversations with people he doesn't like. He has those close to him, and everyone else can fuck off, which I actually really liked. It made him more real in a way.

I don't actually know how to describe how this story effected my emotions. I was angry, and sad, and happy, all through the course of this book. There were dark times that scared me, and made me sad. They were just so deep and emotional that it was captivating. And then you have a character like Preppy who is completely different from King and made me laugh so much and I just sat there with a smile on my face from other times. He was seriously the best secondary character ever. Preppy and King balanced each other and they were fucked up in their own way, and because of that they always had each others back.

It kills me to say this, but I actually didn't like Doe that much. She had a lot of problems, obviously, but it annoyed me some with how she was about her memory. Always saying that she didn't want to do something and ruin her life. As in, the other her, the one in her past who had her memory. At first I got it, but it was just a little annoying that she wouldn't make any decisions that could effect the past her. This is the reason for my 4 star rating, instead of 5.

Overall, this was still a fantastic story that I am dying to get the rest of. Seriously guys, be prepared for this cliffhanger because I was screaming for more at the end. Literally yelled at my Kindle because I didn't want it to be over.

I think I fell a little bit in love with T.M Frazier after I read The Dark Light of Day and this book just proved my love. I really don't know how someone can create such amazing books that are so deep, and passionate and just so beautiful it makes you weep. I love this author, I love these books, I just love it all.

This was a new author to me, so I went in totally blind. Let me just tell you
that I can't wait for Tyrant and I can't wait to get my hands on The Dark Light of Day!

Doe has lost her memory. She doesn't remember who she is or where she comes from. She lives in the streets with a so-called friend and every day she fights for survival.

She's so desperate that she's willing to sell her body to a biker, just to have something under her teeth and be protected.

King is a criminal. He just came out of prison after three years and now he is ready to do whatever it takes to get back what belongs to him. He doesn't need distractions. He is a man on a mission. But he can't help but be intrigued by Doe.

Both King and Doe were great characters; my heart broke for Doe during so many scenes and I couldn't help but fall for King.

There were many other great characters in this story, but the one I preferred the most was Preppy- obviously. Such a great, interesting and funny man! He made me laugh a lot..

This story warmed my heart, kept me on the edge of my seat, but also made me shed a few tears.

The writing was wonderful and it sucked me in. I was so engrossed in the story that I tried to read as soon as I had a free minute. I couldn't stop thinking about the story and when I had to stop, I was so looking forward to going back to it.

There's an aspect of this book that intrigued me so much: Doe's memory loss. I don't think I've ever read a similar book, but I loved this side of the story so much!

I definitely recommend this read. Go get this book..NOW!

Can it be August now, please?
